About the BISONS
The BISONS Sportsman Club was organized to assist the VFW, and do things to help the post with maintenance and other activities that promote community recognition. As outlined in the original charter, the purpose s of the BISON’S Sportsman Club – Oxbow 4156 are as follows:
- To promote the growth of local, regional and special interest VFW groups worldwide;
- To provide a communication channel to disseminate news and other information efficiently to the VFW, post members and local community;
- To give the VFW, post members and local community a collective voice to articulate issues they find important;
- To influence and advise the VFW, post members and the local community;
- To foster the professional development of individuals of the VFW and local community members;
- To coordinate the collection and distribution of community and member contributed resources to support the community;
- To allow local community members to participate in a global organization.
Members have the right to:
- Attend and participate in general meetings;
- Vote in general BISON’S Sportsman Club – Oxbow 4156 elections;
- Vote on any issue brought to the membership of the BISON’S Sportsman Club – Oxbow 4156 by the Board of Directors;
- Bring an issue to a vote by the membership of the BISON’S Sportsman Club – Oxbow 4156 through a motion brought up at any general membership meeting.
