Robert John Stadler, age 77, of White Lake, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Diana; his three children: Vicki (Noel) Manning, Matthew (Katie) Stadler, Joseph (Tammy) Stadler; her fourteen grandchildren: Michelle, Robbie, Amanda, Angie, Andrew, Noel Conner, John, Bruce, Pierce, Henry, Lily, Colton, Gavin, and Lexi; and many cherished great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Robert was born August 6, 1945, in Pontiac, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank and Edith (Lee) Stadler. When Robert was introduced to Diana Cooper through a mutual friend, it was love at first sight! Robert and Diana began dating, and were eventually married in 1981, sharing forty-one wonderful years together. He began his career as a production worker for General Motors at the young age of seventeen. Robert put his career on hold in 1966, when he entered into the United States Army. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1968. Upon his return to the States, Robert continued at GM; he was a dedicated employee for thirty years until his retirement in 1994. Robert was an active member of the VFW Post #4156 in White Lake, and held the friendships he made there close to his heart. In his free time, Robert loved to get out and play a round of golf, or spend an afternoon working on his golf cart. He was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith; his son, John Stadler; and his six siblings.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation will take place. No public memorial services have been scheduled. At a later date, Robert will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
